Stickybits

First Foursquare brought real world locations into the social media environment, now Stickybits does the same for any object. Powered by the RedLaser scanning app, users can append digital content to any real world object with a barcode or print and affix their own barcodes to any real world object. For instance, a barcode on your business card could contain a link to your LinkedIn profile or C.V. or a birthday card barcaode could have a video message from the sender attached. You can scan barcodes on any real world object and append digital content which raises interesting questions over intellectual copyright and has potential for a new style of cyber-squatting - how long before they charge brands to "own" their barcodes?

Interesting stuff.
